| | Back in 2017 I had some Bitcoin when the fork happened, so I ended up with an equal amount of Bitcoin Gold. I honestly forgot about it until today. Tried to check the price but the numbers are confusing – some sites show $0.58, others show something else. Is there a reliable place to just punch in my BTG amount and see what it's worth in real dollars? Also, I'm a bit paranoid about using random exchanges after all the hacks I've read about. | | | | smoky (Gast)
| | I had the same "found a fork coin" moment last year with Bitcoin Gold. What worked for me was using a dedicated BTG calculator – like this one: https://paybis.com/bitcoin-gold-calculator/ . I typed in my old balance and it showed me the exact dollar value on the spot (caught that wild 120% spike on May 23rd, too). No account needed, just the calculator. As for the paranoia about exchanges – I get it completely. That's actually why I only use platforms that have proper licenses now. Paybis, the site behind that calculator, recently posted on this X post that they got both MiCA and PSD2 authorisation in Europe. That means they have to keep customer funds separate from their own money and follow strict rules. Made me feel a lot better about ever selling that old BTG bag | | | | Alena (Gast)
